06 Nov Minimum balance – SMSF
There is much conjecture regarding the minimum balance required to run a self managed super fund.
Essentially there is no minimum balance required to run your own fund.
However, it is important to understand that the level of costs of running a small fund will most likely drag on performance and will provide an inferior result to that of being a member of a public or corporate super fund.
Ideally a fund should have at least $200,000 with the ability to grow substantially from this point through additional contributions. At this level a fund is just viable from a fee perspective.
The larger the fund however the more economies of scale you will achieve.
